The problem with the concept of sharing small bites, is that when you chance upon a really delicious plate, it will be small, and you will still have to share it. Such was the tricky predicament we found ourselves in at Morsels.

Morsels on Mayo Street
This casual little restaurant, recently opened on the edge of Little India, is owned by Singaporean couple Bry and Petrina. They cook in the kitchen themselves, making everything in-house where possible. The pair are earnest, interesting and, most importantly, interested – in their food, the ingredients and their sources.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. First you’ll need to find this hidden place. Then you’ll need to order yourself a drink; make that a decompression cocktail if you’ve come straight from the office – the lemongrass mojito ($18) worked for us.
Drum roll… enter the Hokkaido scallop ceviche ($17/$25): fresh scallop, sour plum, bursts of sweet roe and lemony notes all scooped up with crisp, salty, freshly made tortillas. So far, so good; and so easy to share. Then come steamed clams ($22) with a fig broth worthy of slurping noisily, messily and selfishly, served with a moderate amount of sliced baguette. You can see how the sharing dilemma unfolds.
The firecracker pulled pork pasta ($14) with habanero pesto ticks the comfort food box. We weren’t sold on the prettily presented grilled octopus and squid ink risotto ($25); nor the Milo-miso version of tiramisu, one of two desserts on the menu. But for those first two dishes alone we would happily return.
Must-Try Dish: Hokkaido scallop ceviche
